Re: Language Packs for Windows Vista Ultimate

Hi!

The answer is yes.

For example in French:

Computer changed for Ordinateur
Control Panel changed for Panneau de configuration
Recycle Bin changed for Corbeille

Bonne journée!

Re: Language Packs for Windows Vista Ultimate

Firstly you can only do it on VISTA Ultimate and secondly the change
may not affect absolutely everything you see on your computer and for
the language to change on any applications installed they have to be
VISTA compliant for the language business.

That's not very technical but it sums up what I've seen here in
messages. I can't remember a specific part of Windows that someone said
did not change but it seems it's not perfect ..... surprised?

If I were you I would wait to install VISTA (especially if it's a
laptop) until a few months have gone by and everyone actually knows a
bit more -- and you might be able to get your English language version
by mail order or perhaps by downloading?

Re: Language Packs for Windows Vista Ultimate

If it would be possible to buy only the cd key I would do it immediately,
cause at work we have MSDN subscriptions, so i can download the english
version, but of course i need to buy at least a cd key so i can use it at
home.

I meant shortcuts even only in Windows Explorer... in english to "select
all" you use CTRL + A, while in italian you use CTRL + NumericPad5... which
on a notebook it's almost impossible to do... :P

How very odd! Over in the laptop forum I've just been recommending
someone to get a USB plug in keypad rather than struggle with the
embedded keypad in so many laptops. At least several 17 inchers are
coming with classic keypads but they are not my idea of portable.

I thought you could buy just a licence key -- have you checked the MS
website?
