They have a different set of security permissions to the personal folders. May have to play around with those. -- Jon |

But on mine, Favourites and Recorded TV do not have Location tabs. This is annoying as Recorded TV is a folder that I really want to move off my RAID 0 array, as the hidden Recording temp folder is just wearing out the drives unnecessarily. I want to move this folder on a large cheap drive that I don't care about if it fails. ss. |

I want to move this folder on a large cheap > drive that I don't care about if it fails. > Recorded TV doesn't seem to be in the same "class" as other Public Folders -- there's no entry for it under: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\User Shell Folders" and it can be moved with no problem. I think you can move the folder, and then change registry references in the following locations: "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Service\Recording" LastRecordPathSet RecordPath "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Service\Video\Tuners\DVR\IO\Writer" DVRDirectory As for the public, 'Favorites', I've never seen anything saved there, nor can I find anywhere that its contents are displayed. -- Good Luck, Keith Microsoft MVP [Windows XP Shell/User] |
