| | hibernation disappeared off my list of shut down options. Im not sure what it is that I did but hibernation no longer appears in the list of options for shutdown of my computer and sleep doesnt work (computer wakes up immediately after going to sleep) so perhaps someone can tell me how to get hibernation back into the list since I know that hibernation works on my computer. thanks, |

To get it back, go to All Programs...Accessories, and right-click on Command Prompt, and select "Run as Administrator" Then type in powercfg /hibernate on Reboot, and it should be back. Dave |

| | Re: hibernation disappeared off my list of shut down options. Did you accidentally delete the Hibernation Files in Disk Cleanup? I almost did that yesterday, which would have automatically removed Hibernation as on option. More than likely you had the option checked in Disk Cleanup to delete the hibernation file, that turns off Hibernation, too. Type this into Start Menu's search bar, powercfg -h on hit Enter. That should work, if not, open an elevated command prompt, copy and paste that, hit enter. -Michael |

| | Re: hibernation disappeared off my list of shut down options. Thanks, I can set the power button in the start menu to hibernate but hibernate doesn't show up in the popup menu when I click on the other shutdown options. Is there a way to make it show up again in the other shutdown options menu (the one that is activated by the right arrow button on the start menu)?
