MDAC

I am currently running Vista Home Premium. I have tried to run a program
from a CD and I am getting that MDAC_typ.exe needs to run. I've downloaded
it. Ran it. And it will not install. I can't run my software without it. Is
this something to do with Vista?
What options do I have. This software is very important.

What is the software? Do you know it's Vista compatible? Have you checked
with the software vendor for info on whether it can run on Vista?

Re: MDAC

Be more amazed that the software vendor is requiring MDAC be installed
rather than checking to see if it needs to be installed. When Windows XP
came out with a newer version of MDAC a number of folks "broke" their
installers on it also since they tried to install an older MDAC version and
it would fail.

Re: MDAC

It looks like MS "broke" their own installer with the new MDAC. Can't install
VB6 SP5 on Vista because of an MDAC error. Then I try to run the MDAC 2.6 by
itself to no avail. LOL
