Vista - About ordering the 64-bit version of Windows Vista for 9.95?!

About aweek ago I went to www.windowsvista.com/1033/ordermedia and I typed
in all of the needed info that is asked then ordered a 64-bit version of
Windows Vista Home Premium for 9.95 and in my mail on 02/08/07 I received a
64-bit version of Windows Vista Home Basic. So I know that I was sent the
wrong disc, because I am thinking that if I download the 64-bit version of
Windows Vista Home Basic over my currently installed version of 32-bit
Windows Vista Home Premium then I will lose all of the features of Home
Premium and would only have Home Basic(albeit a 64-bit). Unless I am wrong?
So if I called Microsoft will they fix this issue and send me out the 64-bit
version of Windows Vista Home Premium at no charge or will I be charged
another $9.95 to get the correct disc?
Has this happened to anyone else?

If you use the key from your 32bit disk for your install of the 64bit
version, that should install the same version as your 32 bit version.

I do not think so because Home Basic and Home Premium are different versions
of Windows Vista, and I am thinking that I will lose the features of the
Home Premium if I install the Home Basic.

So you ordered a product and you were sent the wrong item.
Then go back to them to rectify their error.
Obviously you just call them.

If they shipped you the wrong product from a confirmed order for
another product then you should not be required to pay for the
replacement.

They key unlocks the features.

You can install home basic, then buy premium and just reenter the key.

All editions of Vista are on the same DVD. Use your 32 bit Home Premium key
with the 64 bit DVD. As your original product key is for Home Premium, you
will get Home Premium. The key determines the edition that gets installed.

With OEM you get either 32 bit or 64 bit DVD, not both. If you wanted 64
bit OEM after having bought 32 bit, you would have to buy a new copy. With
OEM you don't get the option of having both. as far as I can tell. Seeing
as you would have to buy another copy to make the switch from 32 bit to 64,
you would get another product key anyway.
