regional settings

Hi thanks for taking the time to read this post. I just switched from XP to
Vista, i input alot of times into Excel and having the time separator
switched from " : " to the decimal in regional settings saves me alot of
time. This feature seems to have been excluded or moved in Vista and i cant
tell you how much time this is costing me, especially because i'm already
used to hitting the decimal on my num pad instead of "shift :" and i'm going
to wear out my backspace button. Any insite to where or how i can change the
time separator from : to . would be much appreciated. i've tried regional
settings and its just not there. thanks in advance

Unless I misunderstand.

Control Panel ... Regional and Language Option ... Customize this
format ... (button) ... Time (tab)

in the Format section where it says initially HH:mm:ss
Just replace the colons with periods and press Apply.

This will change the format.

Re: regional settings

thanks mike! i did try that, but exel changed the format of my cells to make
it 12 . 59 after i changed it. i'm not sure if it was me when i was messing
with stuff trying to get it to work or if excel did it on its own, either way
its working now. and because of your post it made me dig a little deeper into
why it wasnt working for me. thank you again.
