Re: Unable to add programs to "Quick Launch"

Which program are you trying to add to the quick launch? Which method was
used, drag to or Send to from the All Program's group?

Why add a "program" to the QuickLaunch Toolbar? One doesn't "Add Programs to
the QuickLaunch Toolbar", he adds SHORTCUTS to programs.

Let's face it, Vista still has more than it's share of bugs. IE 7 tends to
crash also, if one visits standards-based Web sites.

Re: Unable to add programs to "Quick Launch"

If your toolbar is locked, try unlocking it then drag the shortcut to it
again and see if that works. Which program is this again?

Re: Unable to add programs to "Quick Launch"

I just tried unlocking the toolbar and then draging theshortcut into the
quick launch bar, still no luck.

It's the same for every program.

Re: Unable to add programs to "Quick Launch"

Is this an upgrade or clean install of Vista? If it is an upgrade, it might
very well some glitch. Have you also tried this under another account?

Re: Unable to add programs to "Quick Launch"

It's a clean install, and the problem can be reproduced in other accounts as
well..

I did another clean install total, it appears that the problem's there
before I even install any program. Could it be one of those driver control
shell or programs that caused the problem?

Re: Unable to add programs to "Quick Launch"

Hi everyone.

I've got exactly the same problem. This is the error message I get:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: Explorer.EXE
Application Version: 6.0.6000.16386
Application Timestamp: 4549b091
Fault Module Name: SHELL32.dll
Fault Module Version: 6.0.6000.16386
Fault Module Timestamp: 4549bdb4
Exception Code: c0000005
Exception Offset: 0029b83f
OS Version:
6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.3
Locale ID: 2057
Additional Information 1: 8d13
Additional Information 2:
cdca9b1d21d12b77d84f02df48e34311
Additional Information 3: 8d13
Additional Information 4:
cdca9b1d21d12b77d84f02df48e34311

I’m using a Sony Vaio laptop, model VGN AR31M.

For me, Windows Explorer crashes when I right-click and select 'Add to
Quick Launch'.

If I try to drag an icon to the Quick Launch toolbar, a cursor appears
in the toolbar and then it just stays there until I restart the machine.
Please note: the machine as a whole DOES NOT freeze. I can continue to
use it as normal, but the cursor just stays there.

Any help on this would be appreciated. It's a very annoying glitch.
