| Guest | Re: Unable to run Internet Explorer in Protected Mode Have you checked IE 7's add on manager to see if its possibly an installed Add-on object that might be doing this? It could be a malicious one too trying keep it turned off so it won't be detected and infiltrate your system. | Guest | Re: Unable to run Internet Explorer in Protected Mode The problem was indeed with the ophook32.dll file, which is from Scansoft's OmniPage OCR software. Interestingly enough, I could not find any sort of reference to it anywhere in the add-on lists in the Manage Add-ons area. Therefore I could not disable it. Wound up uninstalling the software as it was an old version anyways and problem solved. Thanks for the help. | Guest | Re: Unable to run Internet Explorer in Protected Mode I have a client who decided to install a Canon CanoScan 5000F on a Windows Vista Machine. We had the exact same error and thanks to your info about this IE error we were able to track it back to the installation of the OmniPage SE software package. We will look for a Vista Compatible Version. Thank you for posting your fix.
