Hi
I am just wondering if anyone has been able to download real player 10.5
[basic edition] on vista ultimate?
I am able to start the real player installer, then the download manager
application appears, then nothing. doesn;t so a thing ;o)

Any workarounds will be much apprecaited.

Re: real player and windows vista compatibility?

Have you tried downloading the installer, right-clicking it, and selecting
"Run as Administrator"?

To get much of the same functionality - and perhaps more, without the
bloat - try Real Alternative (bundled with Media Player Classic). This
is open-source software (free), with no hidden nasties. Works very well
for RP files...

I use it along with QuickTime Alternative because I'm fed up of Real and
Apple software putting stuff all over the place and insisting on running
stuff on startup.

Re: real player and windows vista compatibility?

many thansk for this. Actually, my only reason for installing RP in the first
instance was to listen to BBC radio online.
Will this work as an explorer plugin?
thanks
