| | I thought that vista would be quicker I have premium installed x 86 (awaiting x64 bit disk), it is very slow even on my high spec system. Why is it so slow? some programs hang for ages until they fully open. |

| | RE: I thought that vista would be quicker You have something else going on in your computer then. Is your computer virus and spyware free? Was it before you installed Vista? Vista is quicker, at least it "feels" that way. If your computer is "clean" you may have a bad driver (do free scan at www.driveragent.com to see). Or you may be running a "not for Vista" program in the background. Did you uninstall all programs that Windows Upgrade Advisor mentioned could have issues with Vista? Anyway, without specific details about your system and what you did before installation to prepare, folks can only guess what might be happening. Which, with my limited knowledge, have done. | | Re: I thought that vista would be quicker Just tested DriverAgent on my primary desktop. Interesting tool, except for the $29.99 yearly subscription fee. Indicated that I had 7 devices with out of date or as it says "Bad" drivers(?). Out of the seven only one was actually below the latest release. It does show a posting date for their "Best" driver. When I have time, I'll have to check the vendor sites and see if the available 'dated' updates can be located. Anyway thanks for posting the link, I can see where that might be a helpful tool to inventory driver versions.
