Getting rather fed up now

Hi All,

After a week of messing with vista I finally got everything stable (Touch
wood), until yesterday.
I have a 250GB USB Hard disk which has been great until yesterday when the
drive letter disappeared.
When investigating disk management reported it as "Unreadable", after a huge
panic (very important data on it)
I removed the hard disk from the usb enclosure and added it to my pc's IDE
channel. On bootup the disk appeared correctly along with my data.
I quickly copied it over to my main hard disk then reinstalled in the usb
enclosure to get the same error.

Is this a hardware error or has vista done something ???
Anyone had this problem ?

Re: Getting rather fed up now

Put your enclosure at the top of the suspect list.
Try the enclosure on another computer.

Re: Getting rather fed up now

Maybe that should be a wake up call to make duplicate copies of your data.
What would happen if your drive just died? Why do people only worry about
their data when a problem exists?

Re: Getting rather fed up now

I guess there's no pleasure like the pleasure of stabbing a guy who's already
in pain?
