If you wanted Media Player - why buy the N edition? You don't save any cost and you loose functionality. -- Mike Brannigan |

| | Re: WMP 11 where can I download it ? The N version is provided in Europe through MSDN Academic Alliance program usually to students, and has to be given (with the N) in order to follow European Union law. This is why many of us are blocked looking for WMP 11 when it's not even out for us yet. Microsoft mentionned releasing a Media Restore Pack soon acter the Vista release (jan. 30), but nothing yet. I've searched for hours and I still don't have WMP, which means I also have trouble readine .wma files. You are not required to receive the N edition to comply with EU legislation. The N Edition itself was produced to comply with a specific ruling - however you are not forced to only supply the N Edition The N edition is an option. Your academic institute can supply you with the full version - check back with them and the downlaod options on the MSDN AA site for the software available for your institute. http://www.msdnaa.net/search/schoolsearch.aspx Certainly checking a number of EU institutions on the above site the N version is not listed. -- Mike Brannigan "golbarg" <golbarg@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:C482321C-1605-4A93-85DA-79F17FB89BCB@microsoft.com... > The N version is provided in Europe through MSDN Academic Alliance > program > usually to students, and has to be given (with the N) in order to > follow > European Union law. > > This is why many of us are blocked looking for WMP 11 when it's not > even out > for us yet. > > Microsoft mentionned releasing a Media Restore Pack soon acter the > Vista > release (jan. 30), but nothing yet. > > I've searched for hours and I still don't have WMP, which means I > also have > trouble readine .wma files. > > > > > "Mike Brannigan" wrote: > >> "Quba" <qublik@o2.pl> wrote in message >> news:uFwpsg1THHA.1016@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... >> > Does anyone know where can I download Windowas Media Player 11 >> > for >> > Vista? | | Re: WMP 11 where can I download it ? This is from where I downloaded the Vista system, and the only avalible option as for now is the N version. But I will contact my institute and see what they can tell me. But for now, maybe anyone know some good replacement for this software? Something that would work for streaming video as well.
