Virus Scanner for Vista 64

I'm sure this questions has been asked before, however, what are the
recommendations for a virus scanner for Vista 64? Free would be great.

Avast from http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html supports Vista 32 and
64.

Re: Virus Scanner for Vista 64

Not many software companies are making 64 bit specific software.
What you should do is check the major AV makers web sites and see
if they have a 64 bit version. Even if all they have is the 32 bit version,
that might still run on Vista 64 (Vista 64 does support running 32 bit apps).
Try installing it and see.

Most of them have Vista trialware versions that will work for 2 weeks to 2 months,
before you have to pay.

I know AVG has a free Vista version you can try.

NOD32 has a x64 version and it runs well.

<sigh> This does not apply to anti-virus or similar software. When Vista64
runs a 32-bit app, it runs it through Windows On Windows (WOW64). There is
no point in running AV software on what is basically a virtual machine.

AVG Free does not support 64 bit systems. Try Avast, http://
