yes, the reason is that they know that vista is horrible...

they are already working on the next version and plan to get it out at
record time

"to get it out at record time"
If you think so, you are unaware of the release history of Windows.
You seem to be unaware of the facts or are attempting to mislead others.
Check and you will see Microsoft is normally working on the next version of
a product even before the current is released.
This is nothing new with Vista.
Nor is it just Microsoft.
Most if not all manufacturers keep looking to the future, otherwise by the
time the future comes, it is to late.

Or perhaps you are trolling again and the facts are irrelevant to you again?

Re: Is it me or does Microsoft not seem to be spending much money on advertising

Apparently they do spend a lot. I remember reading that XP had a massive
media blitz when it launched, but I hardly knew it. But if you look around
there is indeed a fair bit of Microsoft advertizing out there. For instance,
Global Television, here in Canada, is doing a 'Deal or No Deal Canadian ed.'
with Howie M. [a cool $1,000,000.00 Cdn and tax free I might add] and the
first show was sponsored by Windows Vista. Yes we get Deal or no Deal twice:
one night out of the USA and the next out of Canada - Whoopie! They're doing
five Cdn ed. shows.

He appears to be a nay-sayer who dwells in the past and cares little about
the future. These folks almost always look in the wrong direction and seem
to enjoy placing their heads where the sun doesn't shine. They make even me
fell smart! So, I just laugh at them - poor folks. They just don't know any
better way to be...

Just goes to show there isn't one thing for which you can't find at least
one person willing to believe.

Why wish for something even more horrible than Vista? Microsoft wrote an
operating system that protected them from pirates, enabled the big music
and movie companies to control what people could listen to and watch, but
when they were all done, they couldnt get the damn thing to work.

What an odd comment. Sounds like it is you that can't get it to work
