Vista - safe to delete the ...\softwaredistribution\downloads files?

Joe n/a posts	safe to delete the ...\softwaredistribution\downloads files? Vista ultimate installed and in the \windows\softwaredistribution\downloads folder are numeric files, at least one over 200 mb in size can these be deleted?
