| | How to change default editor for files in Vista I want to edit my vbs files in MS script editor, but by default they open in notepad. In XP I would go to file types in folder options and change it. but in Vista all I can find is how to change the program that opens it. not what edits it. Any ideas? |

In the scheme of things, doesn't "open" and "edit" amount to the same thing. Both functions in XP were identical; they opened the file. -- Scott http://angrykeyboarder.com A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text. Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing? |

Not necessarily. For example, the default "Open" action for a .CMD or ..BAT file runs the batch script. The default "Edit" action for a .CMD or .BAT opens the file in Notepad. Sure, both involve "opening" the file, but the results are quite different. Same with HTML files, VBS files, etc. Being able to control what application is used to edit a file type is important to some people. > Both functions in XP were identical; they opened the file. Not so. See above. Regards, Dave |
