The latest version of Java runs just fine on Windows Vista.

This is true. I just thought I'd point out your bad link. :-)

http://java.sun.com (or http://www.java.com).

BTW, the 64-bit JRE does *not* include web browser plugins. Since
that's all I need Java for, I went with the 32-bit version.
