TechNet copy of Vista sometimes says Windows is not genuine

My TechNet copy of Windows Vista has a problem that sometimes, but not
always, comes up. Sometimes, I get a message saying my copy of Windows
isn't genuine, but it is. When prompted I try the genuine advantage plug-in
and both IE and FireFox. They fail both times. Even after a restart,
validation fails.

The strange thing is that when the message appears, and I try to download
the WGA plug-in for FireFox, it says my Documents folder is not accessible.
But, when I manually browse there, the folder IS accessible.

I do not recall asking for this copy of Vista to be activated, but I could
be wrong.

So, how do I convince my Vista that I am genuine?

Thanks,
Wade Burchette

Re: TechNet copy of Vista sometimes says Windows is not genuine

I have more information about the problem.

I just went to print a document, and now Windows says my printer has a
problem.

So, I tried going to the control panel, and nothing appears. Not even when
typing "Printers" in the search box in the top right.

When it did this before, I did a system restore and the problem was fixed
for a short time (Less than a week).

Open computer properties, and at the bottom of the page you can check Vista
activation status.

Re: TechNet copy of Vista sometimes says Windows is not genuine

I figured out how to fix it.

I play with the services in Windows a lot. Because when you break
something, you learn how to fix problems later. Well, the Software
Licensing service was set to manual. Turning it on and setting it to
automatic fix the problem.

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
