Installation problems

I downloaded windows vista threw e-academy, i either had the option of dvd
and cd. Since i dont have a dvd i got the 5 cds. I ran the windows vista
advisor and my computer can support it, except that i should consider
upgrading my video card. My problem is i cant install it. When i boot with
the cd, it freezes on the loading screen (where you can see Microsoft
Corporation and the progress loading bar) and when i run the installation
from windows (XP pro), i get a 0x0 error. Does anyone know why this happends?
Is it driver related or got it be compability with my laptop?

Re: Installation problems

What make and model of laptop? What are the specs of the laptop? How much
RAM, what type of graphics processor etc. Did the Upgrade Advisor flag
anything else as having potential issues?

RE: Installation problems

I would recommend upgrading to the latest BIOS version. You should be able to
install it afterwards.

Re: Installation problems

Its a presario 2100, 1 gig or ram, processor is a mobile AMD athlon XP 1800,
video card is a ati 128, like i said vista advisor suggest upgrading my video
card, 60 gig harddrive. Other than some software installed might not be
compatible with vista, nothing else was flaged. Although, since i downloaded
vista off e-academy (a website where i can get most of microsoft products,
its in association with my university), i downloaded them in .iso format. Is
it possible i didnt copy it on cds properly?
