RE: Cannot activate Vista - Software Licensing Service has stopped working

Hello Roland,
Is the RPC server running? There is a dependancy on this working.
Can you boot to the DVD and run the repair process and report if this
changes anything?
Open an elevated CMD prompt and run sfc /scannow as well just to be safe.
Thanks,
Darrell Gorter[MSFT]

RE: Cannot activate Vista - Software Licensing Service has stopped

I am having this same issue. Ran repair and just finished elevated sfc ...
did get an error with a nice HUGE log file.
Near the VERY bottom, there is an error with SLSVC.EXE
