| | Vista File Permissions: OpenSSH Issue Hey people! This is my first real Vista Woe, and I'm sure it won't be my last, but I should just say to Microsoft's developers..awesome job! Vista is everything I expected it to be and more. Ok, so on to my problem: I use OpenSSH to connect to a company server to access a CVS. When I try to log in, it says the file permissions on my fingerprint file are too open and so it ignore the file and forces me to sign in each time. This is the message: Permissions 0644 for '/cygdrive/c/Users/Paul/.ssh/id_rsa' are too open. Now I cannot seem to get the permissions right to get the file to 0600 which I believe would protect the file. I have removed all access to the file, then added myself to it with read and write permission but it always says the file is 0644. I managed to get the file to 0444, but cannot get to 0600. Maybe it is time for MS to ofer a Unix-style permission setting dialog for experienced users. So how do I get a file to 0600 on Vista? Thanks for any and all help. Paul. |
