| | Enable transparent window frames The help files says that in order to run in aero mode you must do several things: set color scheme to aero (done), set refresh rate to over 10 mhz (done), set theme to aero (done), set window frame to transparent - and therein lies the problem. According to the help there should be a check mark on the color schreen dialog window. There is not, at least on my computer. Therefore I computer keeps reverting to windows basic which is annoying as it ran in aero mode when I first upgraded it. The internal test mode says my graphics are 3.9 which is more than sufficient. Would appreciate any help and suggestions. Thanks. Gary ----------------------------------------------- Gary .. |

Try the personalization option in control pannel. From there you'll see several options under Window Color and Appearance. Some of the choices can look pretty muddy when trying to see through. Try Frost for testing. Note the Color Intensity slider. The further to the right it is the more saturation you have and the less transparant the windows will be, so if you see little or no effect try pushing the slider almost all the way to the left. Windows will revert to basic depending the application your're running. Gets old very fast to see your desktop flicker or go dark all the time, beacause of course a couple of the applications that are my favorites and I use all the time default to basic mode until I shut them down, then the "fancier" view comes back automatically. |
