Vista - Error installing program

I just tried to install the Acronis Tue Image update and I get the following
error:

"This advertised application will not be installed because it might be
unsafe. Contact your administrator to change the installation user interface
option of the package to basic."

I searched Google however I do not seem to be able to find anything pointing
to Vista some post for windows 2000.
I am the administrator. I also tried to install it in XP compatible mode
however I am unable and I would appreciate any help. Thank you

I've experienced this error when installing a program, which I can't
remember which one, and the program installed and ran without error.

The error relates to a Visual Studio package creation process not set to
Basic. When Acronis created this update, they did not select Basic for
the user's installation interface.

Did the update apply to Acronis True Image and the program run without
error?

Thanks for the reply. No it did not install after the error I got the
message that the program could not be installed and I need to run it again
which I did with the same outcome!

I assume you are using Acronis True Image 10, which is compatible in
Vista, according to Acronis web site.

You may want to report this problem to Acronis:

Thanks I did already and I got a message back to make sure I was the
administrator ... which I am. Last time I had a problem it took two weeks to
get a response from Acronis and basically they told me to try everything I
reported to them that I had already tried in my original email!

Solved it at last. Here is how: uninstalled the original, cleaned the
registry of all instances of True Image and reinstalled. All is well now.
