Using bit torrents with Vista

Hi, I have an issue with Vista HP 64 bit. When I am running bit torrent
software such as uTorrent or Azureus I will allways get a dht failier and
after between 10-15 hours, I will lose internet connectivity. Torrents
continue to upload but I cant get any webpages or pop or smtp, all torrents
list as timed out, so I basically lose internet. I am not using a router, but
a cable modem directly connected via NIC. I do have a home network, which
runs of this main pc as a Gateway. The main pc has two NICs one for internet,
other for home network. Using the exact same setup in a dual boot of xp I do
not have any issues but this is driving me nuts. The PC is set not to sleep,
the NICs are set to not be turned off and I think its only bit torrents which
knocks out the connection, after 10-15 hours. Also while I am here, the 2nd
nic is set to "Private" network, but this keeps resetting to "Public",
setting it back changes nothing to my internet connection, the only way I can
browse pages again is to reboot vista.

Any ideas will be gratefully accepted!

You are NOT losing Internet connectivity, then.
You *MAY* be losing DNS (lookup) which would stop you from getting
mail by ISP name (example: pop.earthlink.net), where pop.209.86.93.205
might still work

did you try looking at the "Status" (Advanced) for the connection?
Did you try repair?
Is one of you client computers allowed to "control the connection) and
is shutting it down.
