installing wordperfect: mapisvc.inf error

I searched all over the 'net for help on installing wordperfect on Vista -- I
could only find piecemeal, partially relevant advice. I attempted to install
WP10 and WP X3, but got the same error each time: unable to modify
mapisvc.inf

The fix for this is to open the UAC (user Access Control) by navigating to
the file (in C:Windows/System32 folder) and right clicking on it. Select the
security tab, click on Advanced, select Owner, click on Edit, and select
your user name as the new owner. Click on Apply. You now have the right to
change the permissions (i.e., increase the "security clearance" for various
entities.

Back under the Security tab of the UAC (the properties dialog box for the
file), you can now select any group or user name, click on Edit, and give
that group or user permission to modify the file. Since I was not sure which
entity required permission, I actually changed all of them to full control.
You'll need to Apply your changes and close the dialog box with OK.

WordPerfect should now install.

Perhaps someone can offer more specific instructions as to which particular
group or user name needs control of the file for the install (I suspect it is
either Trusted Installer or My User).

Re: installing wordperfect: mapisvc.inf error

Thanks, i had this issue with Office 2003, i've done a few re-installs in
the last month with this error, and id wipe my drive and start again.
either installing office 2003 pro, or with outlook and excel patches.
wonder what's screwing up to cause this, it certainly doesn't happen all the
time.
