Burned DVD wont playback correctly

Has anyone else had a problem when using Windows DVD Maker to create a DVD
where it looks perfect in the preview but once burned onto dvd the menu is
shrunk into the top half of the screen and the bottom half of the screen is
green? I've tried a couple of discs now with different videos and its the
same on them all. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

RE: Burned DVD wont playback correctly

I am having the exact same problem. The movie is fine but the menu shows
green no matter which menu style I choose. I have checked everywhere that I
can think of...I have even googles the problem but to no avail.

RE: Burned DVD wont playback correctly

I'm having a similar yet varied issue with playback. I too thought
everything looked amazing in DVD Maker's preview but when it plays back
(tried in 3 different players) it seems to chop off the last couple of
seconds of every clip on the disk. To further describe the "chop", as it
reaches the end of a clip it seems to pause for a moment just before the end
of the scene. Then it jumps to the next one. I'm admitedly not an editing
genius by any stretch yet but it really did not look that way in the playback
of my Sony Handicam DCR-SR40 or in the DVD Maker Preview. I've tried setting
the burn rate to the slowest possible speed and have tried 2 types of discs
to no avail. I really hope someone out there has a reasonable solution for
the average joe with a camera for this stuff. I'd rather not sink more money
in other software if this is at all capable of working.

Yea, I'm getting that exact same problem. Unfortunately I don't have a fix
for you, but i just wanted to let you know you're not alone!

RE: Burned DVD wont playback correctly

I'm also having the same problem, and its affecting the entire movie (not
just the menu). It happens on some files but not others, but I can't figure
out a pattern. The preview shows entirely normal, but when I play the burned
DVD, the screen shows the movie on top, a thin multicolored horizontal line
across the middle of the screen, and the bottom half of the screen is
entirely green.

I never had this problem with XP - - guess it's just one of the many VISTA
improvements.

Seems like a bunch of other folks are having the same issue. SO WHAT's the
DEAL, MICROSOFT DUDES??

Re: Burned DVD wont playback correctly

Did anybody resolve this issue? No posts in a very long time.

I have successfully made several DVDs with Movie Maker and DVD Maker, but now I am getting the green screen on the bottom half of my DVDs.

The only solution I can come up with is that it has to do with .avi files.

The previous DVDs that were successful I converted from .avi to .mpeg.

I was attempting to skip this process this time, but apparently unavoidable.

Any thoughts out there?

You should have quoted the original post, as it seems to be a very old one
that is no longer available on the Microsoft newsserver, so nobody knows
what you are talking about.

Thanks for the tip Censored Syndrome, hopefully it's OK that I try again.
