There are several ways to get to Windows Explorer:

1. Start, Computer. This will open Windows Explorer.

2. If you are a keyboard person, Windows key + E.

3. Start, All Programs, Accessories, Windows Explorer.

Hope this helps.

Re: Vista mail outbox message stuck

Explained below:
"Navigate to that folder via Windows Explorer."
If you don't know how to find Windows Explorer, see my other
post in this thread, posted about 5 minutes ago.
You can delete a file by right-clicking on it, and you'll see
the Delete option.

Re: Vista mail outbox message stuck

Maybe because your backup file was corrupted too.

Here is another solution which is something differrent (mail drap&drop):

Re: Vista mail outbox message stuck

That other workaround is too labor-intensive. :-(
I'm not about to spend 45 minutes doing that when I have no
guarantee that the same problem won't crop up again tomorrow.
We need to find the root cause first.

You can do what I'm doing: watchful waiting.
Frankly, I'd advise you to hold off on attempting to employ
the purported fixes that are floating around, because we
don't know yet what's causing the root problem.
Why go to the trouble of employing a laborious 'fix' when
the same issue can recur over and over again.

Re: Vista mail outbox message stuck

Yeah, I wrote WMUtil because the users couldn't figure how to use esentutl.

I'm going to be adding some new stuff to it.

The zero byte files in the outbox are a known problem.

Re: Vista mail outbox message stuck

Steve, it's great small app anyway. Thank's for it :-).
The real problem is with ineffective algoritms in esentutl.

Re: Vista mail outbox message stuck

Well, I think the real problems are the ways WinMail utilizes the database
and perhaps there are some issues there that no utility can fix.

Re: Vista mail outbox message stuck

I am frustrated with Microsoft's support policy for folks who bought a
computer with Vista pre-installed by the OEM. I called Microsoft and they
told me Acer is responsible for this issue. below is Acers reply:

Acer's support for Windows Mail is to the point that it is up and running
only. Assistance with in-depth issues with the software itself such as
what you describe must be supported by Microsoft as Acer would not have any
fixes for this software. Microsoft will always refer an OEM customer back
to the OEM manufacturer however they do support their products for a fee.
Since we are unable to address the issue with their software or provide a
fix, you will need to contact Microsoft for assistance with this issue.
I'm sorry we are unable to help with this issue. - Acer America

So Microsoft will help me with their bugs "for a fee" Fee rhymes with free
but their is a big difference. Is Microsoft even aware of this problem?

.....Pass the buck!
