Vista does not see W2K computers in it's workgroup

Hello all,
If I'm posting this question in the wrong newsgroup, my apologies. I
just bought my wife a new computer and it came with the full Vista Home
edition, her old computer is running Window 2000 Pro and is connected to the
Internet through a Netgear router into a cable modem. I might add that she
is an artist and has a lot of pictures, sites, how to's, etc. on her present
computer. Well, I figured the new computer should be wireless since we're
not sure where it will be located and how long it will take to be fully
switched over with known file xfers, and the inevitable, "whoops I forgot..".

Well, the new computer(running Vista) connects real well to the Internet
through a Netgear USB 2.0 wireless adapter, through the router and out the
modem. But,
in Vista's network map I cannot see the old W2k computer!? The map shows
the new computer and a "Residential Gateway", but not the old computer. I've
seen some fixes for XP(KB922120) and downloading a "LLTD", but does anybody
know if this would work with W2K? I've checked & double checked, and both
computers are in WORKGROUP, but Vista just doesn't want to play nice with the
old W2K. Any help, suggestions, directions appreciated.

TIA,
ray
