First used 64 bit Vista home edition then found out that there was no way at
this time to get sound. Thus down graded to 32 bit edition on my HP zv6000.
Halelua, i have sound but low and behold the sound was choppy and some times
very distorted. Even when playing a game like Sid meirs pirates there was
choppy sound from the game as it was played but when it was paused the sound
staightened out. When i resumed play the choppyness returned. Please advise
me of what to do as this will drive me nuts.

Can you tell what the full model number is ? When I checked the HP website
it says that the ZV6000 is not supported for Vista. I think you just need
newer\better sound card drivers, can you tell what sound card you have ?

it looks like most of those models use the ATI Xpress 200M motherboard,
which based on a PC I have, is the realtek sound card. You can try going to
www.realtek.com.tw/downloads and try those Vista drivers. I couldn't get
sound either with those drivers, so you might be AOL, I mean SOL

and tried the sound again and still chopped up a little like cutting out.

Re: ChOpPy SoUnD

I just purchased a HP Pavilion a1730n, and experienced the same thing in
World of Warcraft. After doing some research i found that if you disabled
vertical sync within the game (or within you video card i guess) that it got
rid of the choppy sound.
