| | RE: Sidebar is gone It look like its a general problem with Vista. I have called Microsoft tech and as usual they have sent me to DELL Support. The person was very nice but did not know how to solve the problem. My guess is that it has to do with Windows Easy Transfert. I had a problem with the office Autocorrect file (which I had to delete) because the imported one from office 2003 was not compatible with office 2007. I am assuming that we will have to wait for a Windows Vista upgrade "Jaimee" wrote: > Thank you, Todd. | | Re: Sidebar is gone My sidebar came back in a strange way. Since this is a new DELL, they do not create a local administrator account when you firt register on a domain with a domain controller. However, for our VPN we had to create a local admin and we did. After we did that teh sidebar came back at the next rebooth. I don't know if this was the issue or somethinge else, but there was nothing new on the computer except that local admin. So I must assume that it resolved the issue. I don't even see it in my msconfig for starting up during a Windows reboot..... This has to be a major bug if its happening to so many people.. | | RE: Sidebar is gone Uh... I can't find out what the problem is w/ sidebar either. Mine has been gone since March too. Im thinking that something is blocking it from running. Mebey Its Windows Defender! Im not sure, but yah nothing opens it. Ive tried everything except a reinstall of Vista Im just afraid that it will erase my saved stuff? Could of also had been a Vista Automatic Update that stopped it from opening. It must be a Windows Error? Anyone thinking what I am?
