| | Windows Vista Help I have just recently purchased a computer with windows Vista installed onit. However I am trying to download applications I previously had on my old PC like Limewire and I am unable to do so. It say's that's it trying to connect but it never does and I left it up and running for quite awhile. As it being a new PC I am sure it has nothing to do with the pc, I am thinking more along the lines of Limewire not being compatible with Vista. Can someone please help it is is actually compatible and I just need to download something else? |

| | Re: Windows Vista Help Being able to download or not has nothing to do with program compatibility. Are you able to browse websites? Did you have *any* program download successes? | | Re: Windows Vista Help Yes I am able to brose websites, I have also had other download success as well, it is just with the Limewire I am really having an issue with. So I am not sure if it not compatible with Vista with it being a new OS and all I am not sure. Please excuse my lack of knowledge on the situation. It allows me to download thet program itself. I just says that it cannot connect that's all.. "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: > Being able to download or not has nothing to do with program > compatibility. Are you able to browse websites? | | Re: Windows Vista Help As a test, I just downloaded Limewire Basic from the URL http://www.limewire.com/english/cont...oadfree2.shtml without any problems. Not sure why you are having difficulty. The only suggestion I can think of is to try it with an alternate browser such as Mozilla Firefox. | | Re: Windows Vista Help I am having similar problems. Just bought a new Dell laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium on it. I'm having problems downloading sw such as Limewire, and also with Skype - I can download it but once I try to connect I lose my internet connection, which is what happens when I try to download Limewire. I'm also having problems with the software for my camera and blackberry. Any ideas? Thanks. Karen |

| | RE: Windows Vista Help I just purchased a laptop with Vista Home Premium. My sidebar has no gadgets (it did at first) and says that none are installed. When I click on some Control Panel icons such as personlization it does not open. Any suggestions? thanks Kurt |
