| | File version information limited in Windows Explorer on Vista In prior versions of Windows, the properties dialog for any file would have a "Version" tab with all the file version information listed as long as the file included version info. Now, in Vista, version information is on a "Details" tab page, and only if the file extension is EXE, DLL, SYS or OCX (afaik). This is really annoying. There are lots of other files with version information (BPL, various plugins for apps with custom extensions that are actually dlls, etc.) that can no longer be easily viewed in Vista. Any good reason for this? Or just one more "Annoying things about Vista" to add to the list? |
