| | NOTICE: Firefox users... Mozilla just released security and stability updates to versions of Firefox. Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.2 and 1.5.0.10 have been released [1]. If you've got Firefox set to check for and install updates automatically, you'll find it won't work properly due to a Vista-related bug. It checks, downloads the update and notifies you to install, but the installation will fail without notice [2]. I know of two ways around this: 1). Close Firefox. Right click on it's shortcut icon and select "run as administrator". When you get Firefox up and running go to the help menu and select "Check for updates". Follow the prompts from there. After Firefox has closed and restarted close it again and re-start as a normal user. 2). Do a full install of the latest version over the previous version [3] [1] http://mozillazine.org/talkback.html?article=20520 [2] https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352762 [3] http://getfirefox.ccom I just thought I'd share.... - Scott http://angrykeyboarder.com A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text. Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing? NOTICE: In-Newsgroup (and therefore off-topic) comments on my sig will be cheerfully ignored, so don't waste our time. |

| | RE: NOTICE: Firefox users... Scott, Double NOTICE for Vista users. Do NOT *ever* install Firefox and Vista will never experience conflicts. The best method for preventing user induced troubles and conflicts while using Windows Vista; keep that in-secure nightly-build crap as Firefox far away from Vista. What you have factually accomplished; corrupted and polluted our worlds most state-of-the-art OS, Vista. Question for you; would you install Yugo parts inside a new Rolls Royce and then complain how the new Rolls Royce no longer properly functions? -- Windows Vista Become Part of The Legacy! According to your "logic", one shouldn't install anything that isn't made by Microsoft? If so you are sooooooooooooo wrong! Alias |

That it would, but did you happen to look at "About" under the help menu to see what it says? Does it tell you it's "2.0.0.2" (assuming you were using 2.0.x previously). Mine still said 2.0.0.1 (till I fixed it, that is). I'd read about this bug before which is why I checked after the update. And as expected, the update failed (but you wouldn't know that - not right away anyway). -- Scott http://angrykeyboarder.com A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
