RE: Microsoft Works 8 Spreadsheet

I've read and re-read all the posts about this problem (I also have it on a
new Dell), and being 73 yrs young, I'm really confused. Does anyone have a
solution?? I get the same 'Works has stopped working' message when I try
to print a spreadsheet. Thanks

Re: Microsoft Works 8 Spreadsheet

I have the same problem and it is very frustrating. No one, either MS or
Toshiba can help me to print anything from Works 8.5 running Vista Home
Premium. What is wrong with MS? Why can't they address this problem?

RE: Microsoft Works 8 Spreadsheet

OMG, I thought the post you wrote was written by me. I bought a new computer
and printer (both HP) in Feb. and it has been one headache after another. I
had all of my documents migrated to my new computer and the spreadsheets will
not open. These spreads represent 7 years of work. Now I'm also finding
that I cannot print any new spreads that I created on my 8.5. What a mess!!
Microsoft says it is HP's responsibility and HP says it is Microsoft's
responsibility. I'm caught in the middle. I am so sorry that I bought my
new computer after Vista came out. If I had purchased it only a week before,
I could have had XP again. And Microsoft thinks Vista is an improvment over
XP???

RE: Microsoft Works 8 Spreadsheet

Spartan, There is now a fix. Go to microsoft.com/downloads and look for the
Works 8 area. I just downloaded and all is well. Good luck.

RE: Microsoft Works 8 Spreadsheet

Thanks for the info, Bob. I'm headed over to that site right now. Cross
your fingers for me. If it doesn't work, I'm sure you will hear me scream
where ever you live.

RE: Microsoft Works 8 Spreadsheet

Thanks, Bob. I found it and downloaded it. Wouldn't you just know it? MS
just sent me an e-mail with this same link for the fix. I made a dummy
spreadsheet to try it out and it works!! The only problem I have is that it
doesn't show my entire spreadsheet on one page, even when I check landscape.
I guess I will have to tape the two pages together, but I'm not complaining
because at least I can now use spreadsheets. Thanks for your help. Much
appreciated! My next project is to re-migrate my spreads from my old
computer and pray that they will open. That will save me a ton of work
retyping them.

No idea how far you need to extend you spreadsheet to get it on one
sheet but try adjusting the margins out as far as possible. Excel
default margins are generous. Also you could reduce the font size.
