I install Windows Vista Business in a Computer, but this computer have a

and put a clean install of windows xp and put the windows vista in a new
machine that dont have that problem but when I use the activation they tell
me that that serial was already in use. What Can i Do?

Re: Serial Key

Is this the Full version of Vista or is it the OEM version? If its the OEM
version you have already used that key and you can not reuse it. If its a
Full version then I'm only very confused and you should call Microsoft to
ask them what on earth happened.

Re: Serial Key

If you activated the Vista installation on the first system you installed it
on, then you will simply need to use the Telephone option on the activation
screen. This is painless and just takes a couple of minutes.

Re: Serial Key

And let us know if you got it all done in two minutes as Ronnie said could be
done.

Actually, I've got 10 Vista Upgrade licenses, and I wanted to use the
virgin install method. I also tried to call after not entering the key
and they would not accept it (and I didn't really expect them too).

I started the Upgrade install over top the non-key install at 6:28PM, on
a Dual Xeon 2.6ghz machine with 4GB RAM, and I'm just nearing the point
where it is letting me start using the machine - about 45 minutes later.
So, take the first 45 minutes that it took to install and the second 45
minutes it took to upgrade that install, and we're about the same time I
expected it would take.

So, the me install without using the key, then upgrade using the key,
works perfectly.
