Outlook Business Contact Manager 2007 - can't install on Vista EE

Vista Enterprise Edition 32bit, Office Ultimate 2007 and a seperate Disc
with BCM for Outlook 2007. All those discs are from Microsoft technet.

Vista and all Office 07 apps are working fine, but now I wanted to install
BCM which is bundled with a setup for SQL Server Express. It installs SQL
first, have a Look in services.msc and see that all SQL stuff is running,
now again opening the BCM disc and run setup - it asks if I want to install
Business manager, I ok'd and the green progress-bar goes to one / fourth and
brings up a error-message that install is not possible.

No explanation, nothing - it says have a look in your logfile - I did but I
cannot figure out what it says. I rebooted and tried again, with same
results.

Is this a common problem again in vista that new stuff is not working on
MSFTs own products or am I missing something ?

Vista and Office are genuine, activated and are all updated via Automatic
Updates.I am no newbie or else "Beginner", but I can't seem to find the
cause of this behaviour.

Any Hint is gold to me as I don't want to waste my two free support-calls
if this is again a "known problem" ..
