| | RE: Upgrade to Ultimate - no new serial I myself upgraded from Business to Ultimate recently. An email should have been sent to you with a link to the upgrade download. A copy of your license will also be sent to your digital locker. It takes quite some time for your digital locker to be updated, so try and be patient. I didn't get the serial number for my upgrade either. Instead you get an executable file, that has the new license within it. When double clicked, it takes your through the whole upgrade process, step by step. I hope that this helps you some "AP123" wrote: > I upgraded to Ultimate from Vista Business and did not receive a new serial > number. > > When i need to do a re installation, how will I get back to Vista Ultimate? |

| | RE: Upgrade to Ultimate - no new serial Hi David, Thanks for the response. I upgraded about a month ago and am running Ultimate now. I don't recall double clicking an executable file, but may have. To clarify, I should back up this executable file in case of reinstallation. Where can I find this executable? | | Re: Upgrade to Ultimate - no new serial If your talking about the product key, i read somewhere in this newsgroup of someone having the same problem and someone suggested downloading a program that will retrieve the key and tell you what it is. I'm sorry i don't remember what the name of the program is but if you search for product key in this newsgroup i'm sure you'll find it. | | Re: Upgrade to Ultimate - no new serial What email did you use for your upgrade? When I upgraded, I had to type in an email in order to receive a proof of purchase. The email that I put was also registered to my digital locker. Within the email, their was a link to this file. I had the option of either running it straight from the link, or saving it to my desktop for later use. I save it to my desktop for later use, but I also received a copy of it in my digital locker. You can locate your digital locker in vista by going to start, control panel, programs, and then "Manage programs you buy online (digital locker)". Your whole purchase revolves around the email that you put, when you made your purchase. Microsoft claims that you receive a copy of your license in your digital locker 3 days after purchase. I actually received it about 2 weeks later or so. I hope this helps some. | | Re: Upgrade to Ultimate - no new serial Use Belarc Advisor to get your key. Also call the activation line if it's saying that it's not activated and tell them you had issues after the anytime upgrade and they will issue you a new activation. You may have to push for it since the people in India don't always pick up on things uber-fast due to the language issues, but they will issue you a new activation.
