Drivers for Delkin CardBus 32 Adapter

I've bought a Delkin CardBus 32 adapter to read CF cards on my Vista Sone
Vaio laptop. But the Delkin installation CD doesn't have Vista drivers, and
neither the Microsoft or Delkin websites can help!

Moral: don't try to use modern technology on a Vista laptop!!!

Re: Drivers for Delkin CardBus 32 Adapter

Chris,

My experiences with ExpressCard/34 or ExpressCard/54 flash memory devices
are they do not require drivers. I recently purchased the HSC-ExpressCard/54
Adapter for CF and Microdrive for my laptop running Vista Ultimate and it
was a breeze. Just insert device (windows will not recognize it till you
insert flash media) then pop in CF memroy card or Microdrive and windows
will see it as it would any other removeable storage. Hope this helps.

Re: Drivers for Delkin CardBus 32 Adapter

Hi James,

I have an ExpressCard SD adapter which came with my Sony Vaio, but needed a
CF adapter as well. So I bought a highspeed CardBus adapter from Delkin. But
this certainly won't just plug and play!

Inserting the adapter with a CF card inserted, produces the Found New
Hardware dialogue in Vista, but it needs a driver to make it work. It can't
use the XP driver on the CD, and can't find a Vista equivalent on the web
either. I've asked Delkin for a solution (as their website doesn't mention
Vista yet) but haven't had a reply yet.

Re: Drivers for Delkin CardBus 32 Adapter

Hi James,

I've now had a reply from Delkin to say that "they are considering producing
a Vista driver for the CardBus 32"! I've replied to point out that it is an
expensive mistaken purchase if it won't work on a Vista laptop!! (Plug and
Play merely asks for the source of the driver when it is plugged in, and
can't find one on the CD supplied by Delkin or the web.)

Re: Drivers for Delkin CardBus 32 Adapter

I also have SONY VAIO. The cardbus32 will NOT work on Vista Business
Edition tht comes pre installed in the VAIO... BUT there is a work
around using the XP driver.

1) Go to www.delkin.com
2) download the XP driver
3) click on the exe file and the contnet will be unzip to your temp
folder. I will happen so quick that you will see nothing. so eiher use
search to find the file named HSCA32.SYS and make note of the path.
usually is C:\users\<ame here>\appdata\local\temp\cardbus32

Insert your cardbus card WITH a CF. Vista will indicate there is no
driver, choose to manually browse to the right location and indicate
the location you found by following steps above.

IGNORE the Vista warning message.

You are done! you receive a message at the end saying the device works
OK ad you can actually see it as another disk.
