Vista Tutorial - strange behavior

i can no longer drag and drop anything into any folder (Recycle Bin
included) on my desktop. all that happens is that icon replaces whatever
icon the folder has i'm trying to drop it in, and that icon jumps to another
position on my desktop. i have to actually open that destination folder
before i drag whatever i'm trying to move or copy to it.

anybody else having this problem, or am i just the lucky one?
