Outlook 2000

Hello: I have recently purchased a new lab top and Vista was installed. I
loaded my MS Office and now my Outlook Address book cannot be found. I have
tried to re-install buy no luck. This computer came with MS Works, and MS
Mail. I do not use either one. Please help. I can receive emails but
cannot sent because of the address book.
Thanks

Re: Outlook 2000

Contacts is stored within the Personal folders data store. The file has a
..pst
extension to it. Installing Office only provides the applications and not
the
personal data. You'll need to copy/transfer the .Pst from your previous PC
to the new Vista machine to re-obtain the Contacts information.

FYI, The PST file doesn't take when Outlook 2000 is used in Vista. I tried
it. Outlook at first glance appears to be OK, however, just try to make an
entry and it will give you error messages. I would love to find a 'work
around' for my old Outlook 2000 contacts list.
