| | Re: Need list of ReadyBoost "certified" USB Flash drives Check out some of these pages: http://www.activewin.com/reviews/har...adyboost.shtml http://blogs.msdn.com/tomarcher/arch...14/576548.aspx http://blogs.zdnet.com/Bott/?p=186 You might want to search this NG for other links. People are starting to compile lists of those. | | Need list of ReadyBoost "certified" USB Flash drives Having just been burned by buying a 4GB USB Flash drive that says "Windows Vista Compatible" on the package that turned out to be too slow for the random read/write speeds that ReadyBoost requires, I'm now looking for a list of Windows Vista ReadyBoost-certified USB flash drives, specifically one with a 4GB capacity. Apparently, many manufacturers are dumping their old product onto the market with just the words "USB 2.0 Hi-Speed" or "Windows Vista Compatible" on the package. They don't use the words Windows Vista "exploitive" or "works with ReadyBoost", hoping guys like me won't be the wiser. I've also learned that while many USB flash drives appear to have the minimum required read/write speed in their specs, they don't tell you that is for sequential read/writes. ReadyBoost, however, is almost entirely random in its read/write operations. |

| | Re: Need list of ReadyBoost "certified" USB Flash drives I'm using an APacer HT-203 which is really fast. On my system read speed is 8124 and write is 12483. Comes with a nice little docking station which allowed me to put it on my desktop without having it stick out of my computers USB port. Best price I found was here: http://www.meritline.com/apacer-usb-...e-2gb-red.html They also have the 4GB model. | | Re: Need list of ReadyBoost "certified" USB Flash drives Grant Gibson has put together a very nice list of compatible flash drives. He also has a few blogs about problems with Readyboost.
