No splash screen in Vista x64

I am a new Vista Ultimate x64 user and am curious as to the way it starts
up. In particular, there is no splash screen on my machine - just a green
progress bar and the text "(c) Microsoft Corporation". In all previous
versions of Windows there was a prominent splash screen telling you what was
loading.

Is it normal for there to be no splash screen or is it a problem on my
machine?

And loving it,

Re: No splash screen in Vista x64

MS did this to help Vista load faster.

During the beta there was quite a bit of discussion around this.
