Vista Tutorial - Yahoo Instant Messenger Difficulties

Was wondering if anyone else is having a problem hearing anything in the YIM
chat rooms. After I purchased a new computer with Windows Vista on it, I
downloaded the most recent version of YIM (8.1) and for some reason, I'm
unable to hear in the chat rooms. Everything else seems to work fine, just
can't hear!! Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

Voice chat is not available in Yahoo messenger 8.1 under vista. New virsion
of YIM that support Vista is still in Development and is due to be released
in June 2007. I heavily use YIM voice chat, I regret to install Vista at this
time.

You could get MSN Messanger and import you Yahoo contacts into MSN. You can
chat with your Yahoo IM contacts with MSN Messanger. Might be doable for you
until Yahoo IM is updated fro windows.

I teach with my yim. Would the msn messenger allow me to see and be seen by
those using yim? Thanks!

I am sad to say I agree with you. I wish I would not have used vista until it
would work with yahoo. I use yahoo messenger for business purposes and this
problem has hurt me financially.
