Missing Feature in New File Associations Window?

You could always delete a file type from the master file list in XP
from Windows Explorer. Now they moved the file association list to
Control Panel, Default Programs.

While you can still CHANGE associations from there easily I see no way
to delete a file type from the Master File Type List. Quickly scanning
my list which is pretty extensive I see several that are just junk and
I was going to get rid of them. Anybody find a way outside of messing
with the Registry?
