Got HP scanner software to install

I've had tons of problems trying to install the scanning software from HP
for my 4070 scanner...The setup kept saying I could not use "run as" or it
didn't recognize Vista, etc...All in all understandable since HP has not yet
released the Vista drivers and software...

By accident, I happened to boot Vista with the HP scanner setup disk in the
reader...When I booted, the setup automatically started...I figured what the
heck, I'll try it one more time...

Not at all sure why, but the setup actually ran this time and did not crap
out like it had being doing before...

Now my scanner is found...HP Image zone seems to have some issues, but
Photosmart Premier is able to scan photos, Office is able to scan documents,
etc...

I hope this helps someone else out...

Not sure why it worked unless the setup.exe actually got started before
vista did it's thing that had been keeping the setup from completing in
previous attempts...

RE: Got HP scanner software to install

Hi, I had problems installing my HP Scanner and got round it by running the
setup program in XP SP2 compatibility mode and it installed OK.

If the program is not running properly I would try running it in the same
compatibility mode.

Hope this helps.
