Has MS stuffed Activation Again ?

There was an optional download for Nvidia drivers for my MB so I accepted
this along with the defender downloads .and rebooted and all seemed ok.
About 2 hours later I recieved a message that hardware has changed and I
would have to reactivate Vista. Thought it would be simple ( if not bloody
annoying especially as no hardware changes made ) but no the Activation
process shows that my key is already used and basically I cant do an
automatic activation. Now I dont want to have to go through the process of
ringing MS every time they stuff up......

btw: it says I have 3 days before......... BOOOOM ( ok it didnt say
boooom but you get the message )

aggggghhhhhhhhhh

Suggestions please ?

Phone them, get a new key and ask the question on what may have caused this.
Or.. don't bother, await the "BOOM" and contemplate your next move.

Phoning them is by using the automatic key entry method.......witch after
entering over 50 numbers throught the phone will then give me a message
saying that your copy is already activated.........

Next move... refund ?

You can you wait and not enter anything, then a nice person comes on the
phone and asks you for the few few numbers. They will then give you a new
activation code.

Ah.. but... then you will need to retype the new numbers in....

It's a hard life sometimes...

REFUND - Based on "I can't be bothered?" good one! GO FOR IT!

Time is relative - You are the only one who can put a value on that one for
yourself.

Doesn't anyone think there is something wrong with this?? Seriously...

All this guy apparently did was change his drivers and now he is supposed to
call MS and beg them to turn his windows back on? Basically kiss their feet
and say "please please please let me continue to use winodws, all I did was
update my drivers!!! I bought it! I Swear!! I AM INNOCENT!!!!" or what??

I mean gimme a friggin break...

I really do not understand why people pup up with this...

Re: Has MS stuffed Activation Again ?

wake up... MS has a dominant monopoly

if you can find me an OS that can run all the windows applications, and was
good, I would switch.

Hey I know an OS that works.. its called XP!

We are trapped because the apps we use need microsoft windows.
Going to mac or linux means bye bye apps that you are used to using.

So get used to use *different* apps...not that difficult =)

Short of a couple games, I have found viable alternatives for everything and
my needs go far beyond e-mail and web browsing.
