Re: Placed an Order for a New Gateway Computer, a Windows Vista Ready Computer.

Awesome!

It'll be interesting to see how well it works with 512MB of memory.

If you feel the need, you might want to upgrade to at least 1GB:

But only if you need to obviously. Try it first.

Again, congrats!

Re: Placed an Order for a New Gateway Computer, a Windows Vista Ready Computer.

Some motherboards don't support the P4 D series and the Core 2 Duo. Do you
know what chipset it is using?
DVD burners, if you need one sooner, are at NewEgg for under $30
More RAM would be very helpful. Video card is alright, as long as you don't
do much gaming. For the price, you did alright. Keeping your upgrades in
mind when buying was a good idea. I always like to buy with future upgrades
in mind, no sense in buying something with a deadend upgrade path.

I did yardwork today

You ordered a new computer. WOW. That is great. Thanks for sharing here
in the Vista group. I did some yardwork today, mowed the lawn, picked
weeds, generally took care of the yard. Later, I'm going to go out to
dinner with the wife.

Let us all know whenever you load new software.

Ohhhh. I know who you are

You're the guy who is working at the US Post Office. How is that job going
for you? I kind of miss your job updates, seeing as this is a personal
forum for your life.

By the way, my job is going well. I don't have any updates to tell you
about, but maybe I'll post if something interesting happens.

Take care
