I'm using home edition basic Vista and I have the same problem running Easy
BCD 1.52. Moreover whenever I try to open the log viewer in the control
panel, I get "Unable to open Snap-In." In my case, Vista came installed on
the computer.
However, I think it may have something to do with installing a set of Visual
Express Edition programming tools, SQL VEE, etc., before compatability issues
have been solved. Moreover, I uninstalled these programs in no particular
order and have garbage files in the folders that were not deleted with the
uninstall. I am considering just deleting these files and running a registry
cleaner.
I just haven't done it yet. I was hoping to find an answer here. But it
seems that no matter how I search, I cannot find out what Error 80004005 even
means.
Maybe someone at microsoft could explain what the code means. But it isn't
anywhere else on their sites as far as I can tell.
