Vista - favorite links empty

Hello

My Favorite Links bar is empty , but when i right click and open map with
favorite links i see documents, pictures etc.
Why is it empty ?

Did you modify the registry to get rid of the shortcut arrows?
This causes the favorite links to appear empty.

This happens if you (or a tweak program) had removed the "IsShortcut" registry value for shortcuts, in the following key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile

Note that removing the "IsShortcut" value causes other side-effects also. Re-creating the value rectifies the problem.
