| | Aero working great, but no transparency I have windows aero working just fine on my compliant system, but i cannot get the transparency to turn on. I click on the aero visual style and then check the enable transparent checkbox and click ok- nothing happens. I go back in and windows unchecked the transparency box, and rechecking it does nothing. All the other visual aspects of windows aero are working just fine. |

| | RE: Aero working great, but no transparency SOLUTION: This problem was occuring when using ATI's Vista Drivers. When i rolled back the driver to the version used under windows XP, aero including transparency is working. Maybe this simple solution will solve others' problems as well! Had this happen once to me when using hardware and drivers that could support glass. Fixed by running "winstat aurora" from the Run box. After it has run for a bit, press Esc to stop it. The press Ctrl+Shift+F9. If still no glass, go to Personalize> Visual Appearance to open classic Appearance. Re-select Windows Aero here and OK way back to desktop. -- Sharon F MS-MVP ~ Windows Shell/User |

| | Re: Aero working great, but no transparency I have the same exact graphics card, same memory. Windows Vista preloaded the driver for me. I didn't need to do anything. However I did install the ATI drivers anyway, which had no effect on anything. It's so pretty! haha -- Robert Firth "rbyrd8100" wrote: > ATI Mobility Radeon X300 64MB.
